Sunday Snapshot: Bears v Lions Preview in 140 Characters or Less

What Do You Think They Talk About?

What Do You Think They Talk About?

Happy Sunday y’all. After a lull in good football over the last two days, it’s time to get back at it today with one focus: Jay Cutler and the Chicago Bears. I don’t know how you do it, but I like to base my weekend schedule around the top games on Thursday, the Buckeye game on Saturday, and then the Bears game on Sunday. After a wonderful lineup Thursday night, I got bored the next two days in large part because of a Buckeye bye mixed with a weak Saturday football schedule. It’s okay, though, because Scott Hanson, the RedZone channel and my couch all have dates lined up with me this afternoon.

The Bears look to build on last week’s MNF win against the Rodgers-less Pack today against Megatron and the Lions. Three weeks ago it looked as if the Bears season was going down the drain and we all were thankful that D-Rose and the Bulls were about to start their season to keep us out of misery. The Bears lost to the Redskins after Cutler suffered a first-half groin injury, went into a bye week and then came out with the win last week. bears2

Some would call that luck. I choose not to call it anything and just accept the win. Where it once looked as if this Bears team had what it takes to make a deep run in the playoffs, it now looks as if they will be lucky to even make it. Their roster is thin, Cutler hasn’t played in several weeks, and their defense can’t stop a nosebleed.  Nonetheless, we fans are back this week with newly instilled hope for our depleted Bears. What can we expect?

Cutler

@6RingsSports: Like it or not, Cutty is the offensive leader. Good to have him back, look for Trestman to open it up early with Jay

Forte

@6RingsSports: Forte will have a heavy load on the ground, but look for a bundle of screen plays against Lions pressuring D-Line

Receiving

@6RingsSports: Cutty back means lots of B-Marsh. Look for Marty Rex to have a big game after several weeks of low-involvement

O-Line

@6RingsSports: Expecting a BIG game out of these guys. Lions bring great pressure, line got dominated last time against Detroit

D-Line

@6RingsSports: Can we get another Peppers sighting? No McClellin adding to injury woes for this group

Linebackers/Secondary

@6RingsSports: This group has two tasks: Stop Reggie Bush (139 yards week 4) and Megatron. Need Tillman to play through pain today

Hester

@6RingsSports: Does he break one off early? If one of his first 2 returns in longer than 40, watch out for 23 to set a record today #Confidence

Predictions

Cutler: 21/34, 272 yards, 2 TD, 1 INT

Forte: 143 all purpose yards, 1 TD

Marshall: 8 rec 109 yards 1 TD

Jeffrey: 4 rec 82 yards

Bennett: 4 rec 56 yards 1 TD

Game Score: Bears 27 Lions 24
