Since no one reads this feature but my buddy Kyle I figured I would invite him to join me and break down the 2002 OU/Texas game. This was the sequel to the Roy Williams play the year before and would be Chris Simms last shot at beating the Sooners as a starter.
Half Texas, Half OU, Lots of Attractive Women
Of course as as Kyle and I watched this game deteriorate due to Nate Hybl interceptions we decided we needed to follow up and watch a Red River game with Barry Switzer coaching. This lead us to 1987 game in which Texas got destroyed because of course they did.
Which begs the question how does Texas lead this series if they never win? It is probably some Big XII conspiracy. Anyway enjoy the nonsense…
Who and When: #3 Texas vs #2 Oklahoma Saturday October 12th 330pm

The Situation: Each team came in ranked in the top 3 and were both National Title contenders. OU had beaten Texas the previous two seasons and Simms needed this game in order to get a victory over them as a starter. OU had lost starter Jason White earlier in the year and was now relying on Nate Hybl, a senior who was not well thought of. They just needed him to be reliable as the offense ran behind mighty mouse Quentin Griffin and played good defense.
